OUR HISTORY
2006
In 2006, our first truckloads of lumber and plywood arrived to an empty warehouse in San Leandro. Just as they had done 20 years ago with PALS, John Moore and his team got to work building an inventory and calling on customers. Since day one, this team sought success through quality products and meaningful relationships.
2008
In 2008, Mark Newton partnered with John Moore to create Moore Newton Quality Hardwoods. Mark brought with him a new range of products, new markets, and expertise founded on decades of experience with Lane Stanton Vance.
2012
In 2012, Higgins Lumber, one of the longest-standing hardwood distributors in California, closed their doors. Moore Newton took on a new team of sales reps and warehouse staff, many with decades of experience with Higgins. This team brought with them a new era of growth for Moore Newton, expanding to new markets, developing new inventory, and building quality relationships with our customers.
2013
In 2013, Moore Newton moved to a new, larger warehouse to make room for an expanding inventory and to continue meeting growing demand. Our Williams Street facility continues to serve our needs today. A central location with plenty of space has allowed us to continue developing new products and inventory for a wide range of industries and applications.
Today, our large selection of hardwood lumber, hardwood plywood, softwood lumber, and composite products serves as an all-in-one solution for Bay Area professionals needing high-quality wood products with quick turn-around and a competitive price.
